I also want to know what line weight to go with. I live in Michigan and for now will most likely fish from shore for bass, walleye, etc. I want to learn now so I can teach my kids as they get older.

I bass fish and i am a fan of baitcast reels and some of my favorite brands are quantum and daiwa. For line i always go with 12 lb.

ya, and sometimes we chuck em into our litte creel bag and let them suffocate slowly (after we rip that darn hook outa their mouth first). And even then, sometimes when it comes time to cut them open to pull out the guts, the darn things are still alive so we have to smack em upside the head to knock them cold before gutting them and chopping off their head.

Of course, I suppose we could cook them alive like lobsters. Or maybe flay their skin off like we do with cattle (ever been to an abbattoire, a slaughterhouse?, most interesting experience. The cows KNOW what is going on. Chickens are clueless).

So, what do you eat? Unfertilized bird ova? Or do you restrict yourself to killing plants to survive?
