What species of fish are you looking to target?
If it’s Salmon/Trout then def go to Alaska.
If you want to catch Pike, Walleye, Trout & Small-mouth Bass, maybe think about heading to Canada.

And it’s cheaper. And it’s warmer. And the mosquito’s aren’t as bad……(wry grin).

Saltwater Fish Guide: Setting Up the Aquarium
Article by Mike Hickmon
If you are interested in starting your own saltwater fish aquarium, then the first thing you need to do is to set up the aquarium. This might sound easy, but there is a lot more to it than simply buying a tank, sticking in a few plants and adding water. Keeping a saltwater aquarium thriving and happy is a difficult task, but just because you are a beginner, doesn’t mean that you cannot learn the ropes! Learn how to Fishing Guide – Tips to Fish Bass
Article by Santos Coffey
I have many great “How To” bass fishing questions from beginners, and i believe it’s good more people these days are becoming serious about fishing! I really like answering questions and helping people learn how to start. This is just can be a quick explained the “How To” bass fishing basics.Bass Fishing Guide.Bass fishing techniques are varied as is also numerous. There is no simple answer that can suit everyone regularly. I’ve selected two of the most effective and easiest methods to explain and i feel like they’ve got some benefit to people who find themselves just getting started with bass fishing.Shaky Head Fishing – That is a rather new technique that can be quickly becoming one of my favorites (and apparently the other people feel the in an identical way). It’s making the rounds during the fishing tournaments and does quite nicely. Ironically, it seems like you can do much better when other lures aren’t getting much attention from bass.Top Water Fishing – This tried and tested technique uses a floating bait, a rod and real. You generally require a bait that replicates a wounded minnow -some of them have propellers that sputter and splash over the top of the water. Buzz baits can be a topwater bait. It is easy to cast and reel at a slow, steady pace or you can cast and reel it in short spurts to help reproduce the effects of an injured fish. The truly amazing part about topwater fishing that is if the bass strikes there is a HUGE splash. It’s really exciting to look at the fish lunge toward the bait. There’s often a countless action on top of the water. The best way to Fish Bass Equals Best places to Fish BassJust as essential as your bass fishing technique, is seeking out a good spot to fish. There are many of considerations, and it’s a different one of those problems that would be much easier to show than tell. River Fishing for Bass. This is the best method to fish bass. I’ve fished on big rivers, but enjoy smaller rivers more. Naturally, a basic, out of the way, place are more effective than areas with a lot of people and commotion. Just as an overall guideline, it’s a good plan to search for the spots in the river that are not typical. Such as, if you have a big boulder or something blocking the current, you can generally find a nice fishing spot on the downstream side of the boulder because dead bugs and such gather where the current is blocked. Another place bass gather is anywhere where tree branches overhang the water. Fish gather to eat the bugs that drop out from the trees they usually like the shade, specially in summer. Downstream of a confluence is another great place to consider a fishing spot. Fish usually gather in hopes of getting the additional grub that washes outside the creek, stream or river. Lake Fishing for Bass. Bass fishingfrom the bank are certainly challenging, but not impossible if you have the patience and dedication for it. Try to find schools of shad. Anywhere that shad gather, bass could be nearby. An abundance of underwater cover for example logs, rocks or artificial crappie beds are places where bass like to hide out. All fish like cover and quiet little hiding spots and bass are no exception. The challenge to this is that often you have your best lures caught in the cover and can’t retrieve them. Boat fishing defiantly has many advantages, there is however lots of good fishing to be had wthout using boat. Of course, if you have one, use it. If you don’t, do not worry about that. Just get out there and fish and have a fun!

The strings on the guides on my fishing rod are coming loose, what is the best glue/epoxy to use? They are coming loose at the end away from the guide. I’ve been about guys that make rods and noticed many made but just wanted to re-wrap and glue it but wanted to discover a very good top quality glue. The rod is a custom made/hand made rod more than 20 years old and I wanted to get yet another 20 years out of it, the strings look good and appear powerful but need re-glueing and re-wrapping.

A Fishing Guide – By The Light of The Moon
Post by Sara Leadbetter
Copyright (c) 2011 maud Enterprise Solutions Ltd
A fantastic fishing guide is to fish by the light of the moon, but what is it about the moon that we fishermen need to understand?
Ancient civilisation knew the influence of the moon on natural rhythms, understanding that the behaviour of animals and fish is influenced by the phase and the position of the moon and organizing the planting and harvesting of crops about such cycles.
The prime lunar factor relating to especially to fishing, is that the moon applies a gravitational force on the Earth and this force causes tidal fluctuations. The moon also impacts feeding patterns, and hence lunar fishing calendars all determine two main feeding periods within every single twenty four hour cycle. These feeding periods will occur when the moon is directly overhead and directly underfoot, lasting from a minimal of 20 minutes to a maximum of an hour.
Those without a bite times calendar can calculate the two feeding periods by consulting the NZ Herald weather section for moon rise and moon set times. The halfway point between these two times is when the moon is directly overhead and 12 hours just before or following, it is directly underfoot on the other side of the earth. These times then proceed to advance by one hour per day so they can be calculated in advance.
Furthemore, the actual phase of the moon also affects the very best/worst days of the lunar fishing calendar. Typically, its wonderful fishing for the two weeks of each month bracketing the new moon. Conversely, the slowest fishing will be in the two weeks bracketing the full moon. The Maori fishing calendar produced by Oceanfun Publishing in Blenheim along with the Tide Occasions Calendar suggests the 3 or four days either side of the new moon are the best fishing of the month.
So what would your New Zealand fishing guide suggest to be the worst times to attempt to fish? If fishing for you is time out of the office employed as a session of R’nR when you would actually rather rmain undisturbed by something even the fish, then it is best to dabble your rod in the water as the moon rises or sets preferably a max of 1 week before and 1 week right after the moon is full. Seeking to capture a trophy? Bait your rod 3 or four days either side of the new moon, when it has risen to directly overhead. Either way, some fishing is far far better than no fishing at all so at any point in the lunar calendar that you have the chance…..go fishing!

Manatees are large, gray mammals with tails that are in the form of flat paddles. They have two flippers with three to four nails on each. Most Manatees weigh over one thousand pounds, can grow up to fourteen feet and live to be about 60 years old. lots of years ago sailors regularly would mistake Manatees for mermaids. West Indian Manatees are the slowest mammals of Mosquito Lagoon and are one of the Earth’s most endangered animals so it is awesome to see one. Manatees are mild creatures and spend the majority of their days eating and traveling. They eat between twenty and 60 pounds of plants and sea grass each day. Manatees don’t have teeth, but they do have front molars. we do not know if Manatees actually need fresh or salt water, but they appear to like fresh better. Manatees could also be found in the coastal and inland waterways of Central America and along the northern coast of South America. West Indian Manatees came from the Caribbean. Florida is said to be their northernmost territory. It became possible for more of them to survive the winters here after power plants were built in Florida which increase the water temperatures around them. Manatees will have to come up for a breath about each four minutes. When Manatees come up for air, it may sound like a snort. They often spend time resting submerged at the bottom or just under the surface of the water. When they are using a great deal of energy, they may surface to respire as frequently as every half a minute, but when resting, Manatees have been observed to remain submerged for up to 20 mins. Manatees generally swim about 3 to 5 miles an hour, but they can swim up to 20 miles an hour in short bursts. Manatees give birth about each 3 years with gestation periods averaging a year. The calves nurse and depend on their mas for about 2 and a half years. Twins are terribly rare. Captain Karty Sills has been a fishing guide in Mosquito Lagoon since 1992. He has seen the football sized newborns that even he acknowledges are extremely cute versions of the adult Manatees. The Manatee’s nearest relative is the elephant. As with wild animal populations, a certain percentage of manatee deaths are assigned to natural causes like cold stress, stomach disease, pneumonia, and other diseases. Additional fatal injuries are from human-related causes with include collisions with watercraft; being crushed and drowned in canal locks and flood control structures; ingestion of fish hooks, litter, and monofilament line; and entanglement in crab trap lines. Eventually, loss of habitat and rapidly declining water quality because of the spraying of fertilizer and insecticides are the most serious threats facing the Manatees today.Daytona Fishing Guide

The fix is to pick up the right size guide for the rod tip and put it on the rod. I would be scared to work on a rod such as the Loomis, but on my cheaper rods I replace them all the time. I heat very carefully the tip of the guide. As I heat it. I am applying pressure to pull it off with a set of pliers. The secret is to get the tip just hot enough to melt the adhesive that holds it on. When it gets soft, the tip pulls off. Clean off the residue on the tip. When you buy the replacement tip, be sure and get you a tube of epoxy that is made for that purpose. Apply it to the tip and line it up properly with the rest of your guides and push it on. A warning here- do not over heat the end of the rod tip, it will ruin the rod.

Trout Fishing Guide – Introducing The Three Popular Trout Types
Article by Mick Jones
Trout fishing is a highly competitive sport which is usually done at rivers or streams. As an angler, the first thing that you should consider is the type of trout you are aiming to catch. Knowing and understanding the type of trout will help you plan out your strategies.
Among the trout species, these three are very popular and sought-after: brook trout, brown trout and the rainbow trout. This trout fishing guide will help you in getting a catch.
* Brook trout – this type live in smaller and shallower streams compared to other types of trout. The line “small but terrible” suits them well as they are surprisingly forceful despite their small size. This trout is not a trout. They belong to the family of chars. Chars, as opposed to trout, have pale spots on top of a murky backdrop. Another thing that makes them different from trout is the number of teeth. Compared to the trout, chars have more teeth in the top of the mouth which proves useful in clasping food. During the hot months, insects are the perfect bait for this type. Examples include black flies, caddis flies, mayflies and stoneflies. Bigger trout feed on frogs and other fishes on other months.
* Brown trout – this trout is the largest among the three types. The type is usually found in Europe and USA. This fish can survive in water with higher temperatures and in different bodies of water. They may be abundant but they are proven to be the most difficult to catch as they are picky eaters and are intelligent. Intelligent in a way that they are always alert when it comes to baits. They are not as forceful and aggressive as the small brook trout so going after this type demands much effort and patience. Frequently, they stay in deep areas and feed either early morning or in late afternoon.
* Rainbow trout – this type is found almost everywhere but are native to west coast of USA. This type of trout is delightful as they are compared to water acrobats. Like the brown trout, they feed early morning or late afternoon usually for hours. The small rainbow trout feed on shallow areas while the bigger ones are in the deep places. They usually face the surface of the water to wait for caddis flies, dobson flies, dragonflies, may flies, and stoneflies that might turn up just above the water. Light rods and reels should be used to catch them.
Always do your research before heading out to the fishing location or better yet make this article as your trout fishing guide. Get to know the stream, river or brook that you will be fishing on. Aside from knowing the location, know the fish you are aiming for. Apart from acquiring the needed information, prepare the right fishing gears and equipment in advance. Check everything before going out to fish. Also know the weather so you can wear the right clothes and bring the right tools. Don’t forget your trout fishing guide and bring home a catch.
